I am a Kansas native and a 1975 University of Kansas graduate who relocated back to Lawrence in 2002 after 21 years in Colorado.\u00a0 I am a lifetime member and former board member of the Lawrence Preservation Alliance and a City of Lawrence Historic Resources Commission member (2004 to 2007).\u00a0 I am a current member and former trustee of First Presbyterian Church and an active member of their \u2018Eco-Team.\u2019\u00a0 I live in the Centennial Neighborhood.<\/em><\/p>\n

I founded Ecological Architecture P.A. in 1992 and I am a licensed architect in CA, CO, KS, MO, NC & NM.<\/em><\/p>\n

I designed the Douglas County 2004 CASA Playhouse<\/a>. CASA, or Court Appointed Special Advocates, helps abused or neglected children find safe homes to live in. Each year the program has a fund-raiser, called Casa 4 CASA, that features a playhouse built by local designers and architects.<\/em><\/p>\n

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY STATEMENT
\nAs a career architect and having been self-employed since January 1, 1990 I have been legally responsible for more than $200 million dollars of construction work and more than 100 projects since 1990. As a professional architect, my responsibilities are much greater than those of managing a local business establishment and its annual revenue.<\/em><\/p>\n

The profession of architecture is subject to huge revenue fluctuations as part of the cyclical nature of the construction industry. My clients and their projects have never been disrupted due to any financial stress on my own business. During all of my years in business, I have never had a lawsuit filed against my business.<\/em><\/p>\n

As a former trustee of First Presbyterian Church, Lawrence I was co-responsible as a member of the Church’s legal corporation for managing utility bills and maintenance costs of $75,000 or more per year.
